It is hard to believe that The Calli Institute has been open since 2010. When we opened Calli, most GPS systems took people to residential areas blocks away; the geography looking out from the office was our own version of The Pyramids. Our neighbors in the complex were mostly mortgage offices, financial planners and insurance businesses. The most “right brain” neighbor was Amazing Threads, known to many women for their yarns, sewing and knitting supplies and by their husbands who had to drive and patiently wait for them.
We have grown in those four years. Grown in terms of clinicians, support staff and by the constant reminder that mental health and wellness are as current a health crisis as the growing awareness of physical health problems ( obesity, diabetes, etc) and economic stressors facing our modern population.
We are not the only game in town. There are other clinics who have opened up in our area. Some right down the block and others in the Maple Grove area. Competition is good as it reminds us of our mission, to provide person -family centered care with a wellness approach. We collaborate, we listen, we truly care. We listen in group therapy offerings in the medication management appointments with our Nurse Practitioner. Our marriage and family therapists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed professional clinical counselors listen to constant tales of struggle and pride.
Thank you, Maple Grove for letting us be a part of your community.
