Dr. Amanda Exman received her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. She has experience providing therapy and psychological assessment in hospitals, residential treatment centers, outpatient clinics, school-based therapy, and college counseling centers. Dr. Exman has expertise working with adults and adolescents who struggle with many mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, anger, relationship concerns, identity development, spiritual concerns, and personality disorders.
Dr. Exman's approach is focused on helping individuals develop understanding and compassion for themselves on their path to healing and growth. In therapy, this includes drawing from her psychoanalytic therapy training, as well as using trauma-informed and attachment lenses. Her approach is also integrated into the psychological assessments she completes through integrating strengths and a whole-person perspective into developing recommendations to both reduce symptoms and promote positive development and growth.
Dr. Exman is completing her postdoctoral training requirements and is working under the supervision of Dr. Jordan Lindh. She sees adolescents and adults for individual therapy and individuals aged 6 and up for psychological assessment.
