Life can feel overwhelming, scary, confusing and hopeless, full of emotions and unpredictable. So often we are stuck in the past, haunted by previous experiences, weighed down by shame and guilts, or overcome by emotions.  Hillary believes everyone possesses remarkable resiliency and is passionate about helping people find their happiness, gain new skills and perspectives, understand more, and find their strength as they grow and heal.

Hillary specializes in working with pre-teens, adolescents, young adults, and families.  She has helped support individuals and families struggling with a wide array of difficulties such as: anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment, parenting struggles, behavioral challenges, self-esteem, ADHD, anger, school difficulties, and chemical dependency.  Her approach is strength-based, relational, and client-centered, focused on developing a supportive, respectful, and honest relationship with clients to help them move toward growth and personal empowerment.  She has specialized training in evidenced-based therapies and trauma therapy of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

Hillary’s path to becoming a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker began at the University of Wisconsin-Stout where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.  While working at an inpatient treatment center, she obtained a Master’s of Social Work degree from the University of St. Thomas and St. Catherine’s University.  She has several years of experience working with youth and their families in a day treatment and residential treatment setting with a focus on co-occurring disorders.
