Kristen is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I have worked with ages from 6-60, and their families. My approach to working with individuals is person-centered and strengths based, using elements of multiple interventions to help each individual find their best solution. I have experience in working with individuals struggling with eating disorders, chemical dependency, low self-esteem, transitions, and impulse control, as well as anxiety and depression.
I believe that therapy is an equal partnership between the person and the therapist. I strive to meet each person where they are at and to use their strengths to combat the challenges they face. My role is to work alongside each person, as we explore their unique challenges. During this exploration, I reflect to them the patterns and themes to increase awareness of what may be keeping them stuck. When working with children, I use elements of play, games, and art to explore the child's unique strengths, reframe the challenges, and encourage their own resilience. I also enjoy working alongside parents as they spend time in play with their children to help with healthier interactions.
Kristen graduated with a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Bethel University.
